We’re excited to welcome Freediving Planet as a sponsor of AIDA Asian Freediving Cup 2026!

Based in the world-famous diving destination of Moalboal, Cebu, Freediving Planet has grown into one of the most recognized freediving centers in the Philippines since its founding in 2012. What started as a passionate vision has become a thriving international community, welcoming students and athletes from around the globe. Today, the center has expanded to locations in Dumaguete and Boracay, bringing quality freediving education to even more destinations across the Philippines.

Freediving Planet offers training under internationally recognized agencies, including AIDA, Molchanovs, and PADI, covering everything from beginner experiences to instructor-level certifications. Classes are built around relaxation, self-awareness, and individual progression, with small group sizes ensuring personalized coaching in a safe, supportive environment. Environmental stewardship is also part of the school’s DNA; students leave as more conscious ocean ambassadors as well as better freedivers. Beyond certifications, Freediving Planet has contributed to the sport through the development of the Freediving Planet lanyard, now used by freedivers and training centers worldwide.

The location itself is hard to beat: Moalboal’s coastline offers easy access to deep water, vibrant coral reefs, and the legendary year-round sardine run, with millions of sardines swirling just offshore and no boat required. Advanced freedivers can explore the Cathedral Cave beneath Pescador Island, visit the iconic Moai Statue resting at 33m (108ft), and dive with the beloved Mermaid of Moalboal, a 500-kilogram (1,102-pound) sculpture that survived a typhoon and has now become a symbol of resilience in the local diving community.

The center is led by Instructor Trainer Jean-Pol François, one of Asia’s most respected freediving educators and a former AIDA Education Officer, alongside competitive freediver and Hong Kong National Record holder Suzanne Lim.
