We’re thrilled to have CETMA Composites back as a sponsor of the Asian Freediving Cup 2026!
When you think of carbon fins, it’s easy to picture sleek blades and smooth glides. But behind CETMA Composites’ fins lies something even more extraordinary: decades of aerospace and aeronautic research poured into every millimeter of their blades.
They’re not just fin makers; they’re material scientists who decided freedivers deserved the same engineering excellence as fighter jets and Formula 1 cars. CETMA Composites grew out of Consorzio CETMA, an advanced research center that has been involved in national and European research projects since 1994. Its founding researchers have published over 200 scientific papers, presented at more than 100 international conferences, and hold over 20 patents.
What sets CETMA’s carbon fins apart is a design principle called “engineered stiffness distribution.” The blade’s stiffness is carefully controlled so that it bends in exactly the right way during each kick, a unique level of precision that’s rare in the carbon fin market. CETMA’s engineers also use advanced computer modeling and conduct over 1,000 mechanical tests per material type to make sure every blade performs exactly as intended. The result is more thrust for the same amount of energy, meaning you swim farther and deeper while working less.
The materials are just as impressive. CETMA uses a special aeronautic resin formula developed entirely in-house, reinforced with nano-particles that extend the life of the blade and reduce stress over time. Combined with premium Japanese carbon fibers from Toho-Tenax and Toray, these fins are built to last as long as they perform.
At Asian Freediving Cup 2026, you’ll see athletes compete on CETMA’s flagship fins: the Taras and Lotus blades, paired with hydrodynamic foot pockets designed for maximum power transfer. Whether you’re competing in depth or pool disciplines, in a monofin or bifins, CETMA’s modular blade system and custom stiffness options mean there’s a setup suited to your body and your goals.
Athletes who’ve tested CETMA fins often describe the same thing: an almost surprising responsiveness when pushing off the bottom, and a smooth, effortless glide on the way down. It’s the kind of feeling that’s hard to put into words, but easy to feel the moment you’re in the water. Beyond fins, CETMA also designs freediving accessories like wetsuits, lanyards, masks and snorkels, and fin bags, along with spearfishing gear.
CETMA Composites’ dedication to science-backed innovation makes them a perfect partner for the Asian Freediving Cup, a competition built around pushing the limits of human performance.
CETMA also designs freediving accessories like noseclips, lanyards, wetsuits, masks and snorkels, and fin bags, along with spearfishing gear.
